Hello and Happy New Years! I hope Santa treated you all very well :-).
Just a couple quick things to start off CAC 2010:
1) Our first meeting of the quarter will be Next Tuesday, Jan 12 at 7pm in Moore 100. Our regular meetings are in Kinsey 1220b, as Erin mentioned in the earlier e-mail... the scheduling office had some issues and had to schedule week 2 and week 9 in Moore instead of Kinsey. Sorry for the confusion, but shoot.. it's a nicer room and closer to the apartments (sorry sorority peeps :P).
2) Our mid-year CAC/Relay retreat is set for all day Saturday the 23. Mark the calendars and get ready for an adventure =). Expect an email with all the logistics Tuesday night!
We've got several other big events coming up in a couple months (Marrow Drive, Relay Kick off 2, RELAY!!, and many more), so stay tuned! Take it easy and hope to see you all soon,

Although there was a quite an interesting start to GASO (due to protestors for the Regent's meeting) - it ended wonderfully! We watched as people slowed down to read the facts from the dead bodies on the ground... it was pretty funny =). We also handed out TONS of pencils, "kiss me - I don't smoke!" stickers, and hookah fact fliers too!

◊ Cancer Education!

Hey everyone! Last Thursday's breast cancer awareness rally (boob-a-palooza) was a HUGE SUCCESS! (Pictures coming soon! - keep checking the "pictures" tab.) We set up tables in Bruin Plaza and handed out free boob cookies, pink lemonade, earrings, and tons of educational information about breast cancer. Advocacy got a good amount of pictures for their mammogram petition as well. And to top it off - we even raised $65.80 for the fight against cancer! This was a big event to pull off and we couldn't have done it without such dedicated club members, so to anyone who contributed in any way - thank you thank you THANK YOU!! :)
If you missed out or can't wait for more - November is LUNG CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. Keep an eye out for info about the next big event: Great American Smokeout ("GASO") on Thursday, 11/19!
